Heat exchanger RFQ checklist

Enough stream data for an engineer to evaluate the duty. A drawing or purchaser specification is preferred. This is not a retail price request.

Open the technical RFQ form

Minimum process data

  1. Duty (heat load) if known, or enough stream data to calculate it
  2. Hot and cold fluid identities / services
  3. Mass or volumetric flow rates
  4. Inlet and outlet temperatures (both sides if available)
  5. Operating and design pressures
  6. Allowable pressure drop (shell and tube)
  7. Fouling factors if specified by the process licensor or plant standard
  8. Preferred materials of construction
  9. Applicable design code (TEMA class, ASME, IS, or client spec)
  10. Quantity, delivery location, and any drawing / P&ID / datasheet upload

If duty is unknown, complete both streams so it can be calculated. Missing one side is the usual reason an RFQ cannot be engineered.

Files worth uploading

  • Thermal datasheet or process data sheet (PDF / Excel)
  • GA drawing, P&ID extract, or purchaser specification
  • CAD (DWG / DXF) when the buyer already holds an approved design
  • Inspection / TPI requirements if they exist as a document
