What this duty is
A reboiler or process vaporizer must respect heat flux, boiling regime, liquid level and vapour disengagement. A kettle (TEMA K-shell) provides hold-up and disengagement space above the bundle. Thermosiphon reboilers are a different hydraulic arrangement — only specify a kettle when the heat-and-material balance assumes one, or when hold-up is required.

Engineering selection
- Send composition, operating pressure, heat duty or vaporisation rate, and whether a weir / level control is required.
- Heat flux limits and fouling on boiling services must be stated by the process engineer. Ohm does not assume undocumented fluxes.
- Kettle shell diameter is set by disengagement as well as area — undersizing causes liquid carryover.
- Complete multi-effect evaporator trains are quoted on the evaporator product page, not as a generic ‘evaporation heat exchanger’ SKU.
