Chemical plants use heat exchangers on reactors (feed preheat, effluent coolers), distillation (reboilers, condensers, interchangers), and utilities. Ohm Engineers manufactures these units in Vadodara for Indian and export chemical projects.
What matters in the RFQ
- Fluid names and any known contaminants (chlorides, acids, solids).
- Batch vs continuous — cyclic temperature affects expansion choice.
- Cleaning philosophy (chemical, mechanical, never).
- Code: TEMA class, ASME or IS.
Typical duties we see on Indian chemical projects
- Reactor feed preheaters and effluent coolers on batch and continuous lines.
- Reboilers and condensers tied to distillation columns in the same plant.
- Interchangers on solvent recovery and utility loops (hot oil, cooling water, brine).
- Vent condensers and off-gas coolers where corrosion drives SS 316L or higher alloys.
Where specifications fail
The most common rework drivers are unstated chloride content (pitting on tube side), assumed cleaning that never happens (fixed tubesheet on a fouling duty), and missing expansion accommodation when steam or hot oil swings temperature on one side only. Write the worst credible case on the datasheet — not the average day.
Related equipment
The same process train often needs reactors, distillation columns, and vacuum systems. Ohm manufactures those as secondary lines; heat exchangers remain the primary enquiry path. Bundle multiple items in one RFQ if you want aligned delivery from one Vadodara shop.
